📖 User manual & features

Terrain allocation and the team call, explained from A to Z.

1. What is this tool for?

On the day of a competition, each team must be told which terrain it plays on. This tool numbers the terrains, forms the matches and assigns a terrain to each match, then displays a team call clear, ready to print or project on a big screen.

2. Number of terrains

Enter how many terrains are available (from 1 to 200). They will be numbered Terrain 1, Terrain 2…

3. Entering teams

Paste or type the list of teams into the large text area, one team per line (team or captain name). Empty lines are ignored.

4. Quick fill

Don't have the names yet? Enter a number and click on Generate Team 1, 2, 3… to automatically fill the list with numbered teams.

5. Random draw of matches

If the Random draw of matches box is checked, the teams are shuffled randomly before being paired. Uncheck it to keep theentry order. Re-run the allocation for a new draw.

6. Assigning terrains

The button 🏟️ ASSIGN TERRAINS forms the matches (team A vs team B) and gives each a terrain number.

7. Understanding rounds

If there are more matches than terrains, the matches are split into rounds : round 1 occupies terrains 1 to N, round 2 fills them again, etc.

💡 Uncheck "Group by round" if you prefer a single continuous list.

8. The team call

Each match is displayed in a card "TERRAIN n: Team A vs Team B", readable from afar. Ideal for paper display or projection.

9. The exempt team

If the number of teams is odd number, the last team is marked as on a bye (it doesn't play this round).

10. Automatic backup & recovery

The allocation is automatically saved in the browser. On reopening, everything reloads. The 💾 Save forces an immediate save.

11. Export / Import

  • ⬇️ Export (file) : downloads a file .json (to transfer or archive).
  • ⬆️ Import (file) : reloads a .json exported.

12. Print

The button 🖨️ Print opens a clean PDF (Terrain / Round / Team A / Team B table), perfect for display at the scoring table.
