📖 Distribution of the prize pool of a pétanque competition

This free tool calculates the distribution of the prize pool of a pétanque competition : it adds up the stake (the entry fees) and the prize pool of the organizer, then shares the whole among the brackets (main, consolation, complementary) and the places (winner, runner-up, semi-finalists, quarter-finalists…).

1. The pot

• Stake = number of teams × entry fee. In official FFPJP, it is fully paid out (share = 100%). In a friendly, you can keep part of it (bar, expenses) by lowering the percentage.
• Prize money = the amount added by the club or sponsors.
• Pot to distribute = entry fee paid out + prize pool.

2. The events

Choose the number of events (Main only, + Consolante, + Complémentaire, or 4 events) and the share (%) of each. For each event, indicate how far down you pay: winner, finalist, semi-finalists, quarter-finals or eighth-finals.

3. The amounts

The calculator proposes an automatic breakdown (rounded to the nearest €5), with a larger share to the winner. Each amount remains editable : type the desired value, the total recalculates live. The banner tells you whether the breakdown works out exactly or whether some euros are left over / missing.
