If you only remember one thing: February for the clubs, October-November for the CNC finals, December for the youth.

The classic pitfall is confusing: federation events (nationals / finals / trophies), and local calendars (committee, sector, tournaments). In short: the federation gives you the milestones, the committee gives you the day-to-day. (see link 1) (see link 3)
- Step 1: block out the 6 key dates above in your diary.
- Step 2: check your committee/league for qualifiers and tournaments near you. (see link 3)
- Step 3: add your goals: 2–3 big weekends + 4–6 "fun" tournaments.
- Mistake to avoid: loading up in June/July, then discovering the CNC finals in October… and cancelling everything.
