📥 Import a list from a file (Notepad / Word / Excel)
At the top of the list, two buttons: 📄 Template (downloads a file .txt of example, already commented, to fill in) and 📥 Import (loads your file and fills the list automatically).
Format: one team per line, players separated by a + (e.g. Jean Dupont + Marie Martin for a doubles team).
Word → "Save as → Plain text (.txt)". Excel → "Save as → CSV". The separator (;, comma or tab) is detected automatically; empty lines and those starting with # are ignored.

1. What is direct elimination?

It is the simplest tournament format: teams are drawn at random and face off in duels. The winner continues, the loser is eliminated. We repeat round after round until only one team remains: the winner.

2. Tournament settings

Organizer / Club & Date

Optional fields that appear at the top of the official PDF and are saved in the backup.

3. Game format

Buttons Singles / Doubles / Triples : they determine the number of players to enter per team (1, 2 or 3).

4. Number of teams

The field "Number of teams" (from 2 to 128) automatically creates the entry cards on the left.

💡 The number of teams can be odd number : in this case, one team will be « waiting » at each round (see section 8).

5. Entering teams

In the left column, each card "Team N" has one line per player: Name + Licence number (optional). If a name is left blank, a default name is used.

6. Start the draw

The yellow button 🎲 START THE DRAW — ROUND 1 reads the entered teams, shuffles them randomly and creates the matches of the 1st round.

⚠️ Launching this button again starts everything over (new draw). To continue, use the « Start the next round » button at the bottom of a completed round.

7. Designate the winners

For each match, click on the winning team : it advances to green with the label Winner.

You can change your mind by clicking on the other team.

When all the round's matches have a winner, the next round button appears.

8. The waiting team (odd number)

If the number of teams in a round is odd number, one team cannot be paired: it is placed « waiting » (bye) and advances automatically to the next round without playing.

9. Next round until the champion

  • As long as more than one team remains: the blue button START THE NEXT ROUND ➔ randomly draws the new matches between the winners (+ the waiting team).
  • When only one team remains : the banner « 🎉 WINNER » is displayed.

10. Automatic backup & recovery

The tournament is saved automatically in the browser after each action. If you close the page and come back, everything reloads by itself. The button 💾 Save forces an immediate save with confirmation.

11. Export / Import (file)

  • ⬇️ Export (file) : downloads a file .json with the whole tournament, to keep or transfer to another PC.
  • ⬆️ Import (file) : reloads a .json exported and restores everything identically (teams, rounds, winners).

12. Print & official PDF

  • 🖨️ Print : opens the print window directly with a clean PDF (without the browser headers/footers), black on white, economical on ink.
  • 🏆 GENERATE THE OFFICIAL PDF (in the right area): downloads the summary PDF of all rounds.

13. Clear everything

The button 🗑️ Clear all clears the tournament and the browser save, after confirmation. Export the file .json before if you want to keep a record of it.

14. Frequently asked questions

I closed the page, did I lose everything?

No: resume is automatic on the same browser. If in doubt, export the file .json.

Can I have a number of teams that is not a power of 2?

Yes. The system handles any number thanks to the « waiting » team that automatically advances to the next round.

Is it all free?
